Why, How Much & When?
Science tells us that consuming 30-60 grams of carbs per hour (even higher in ultra endurance activities), within a session, will enhance performance. Although it may feel early, this should be started in the very first hour, ideally 10-15 min pre start. We generally suggest 1-2 gels hourly on top of your electrolyte hydration but trial this in training and adjust to suit you.

Most sports gels on the market are hard to consume with their sticky consistency, taste artificial and can be sickly sweet making them difficult to use for long periods while training and racing.
